#1 – Seaport Carousel – Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)

The Seaport Carousel is a classic carousel ride at Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). The carousel is the only ride in the Seaport with no overt Looney Tunes theme. Instead, riders can choose to sit on various realistic animals, not Looney Tunes cartoon animals. If anything, the Seaport Carousel is more in line with the overall animal theme of Discovery Kingdom.

Seaport Carousel Ride Experience

On the carousel, there are two rows of animals. The outer row contains exotic animals, like a panda, ostrich, gorilla, rhino, elephant, camel, and grizzly bear. The inner row contains only zebras to give the classic carousel feeling of riding a horse with a twist. There is also a single bench for riders for those with disabilities.

In all other ways, this carousel is like all other carousels at carnivals and theme parks. Riders rotate around in a circle multiple times to music while bobbing up and down to simulate riding on the animal.

Road Runner Express is a short kid’s coaster in Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). The ride consists of two short runs through the circuit, each lasting 30 seconds for a total ride duration of 1 minute.

The ride begins with an immediate incline on a small chain lift hill that takes riders up a maximum height of 13 ft. Riders drop a short distance in a right-angled turn before climbing another small hill. Riders drop again in a wide u-turn that circles back to the starting point in a very abrupt stop. Then, the ride repeats for a second run through the course.

Yosemite Sam’s Flight School is an aerial carousel ride that makes kids the pilot of a biplane.

There are six different planes kids can choose from to pilot. Two red planes, two blue planes, and two green planes are available. Each plane can hold two kids, one in the front and one in the back. A seatbelt goes over the kid’s lap before takeoff.

Like most aerial carousels, there is a lever inside each plane that allows the rider to determine how high in the air the plane goes as it makes its rotation around the center structure. On this ride, as if operating a real plane, holding the lever down makes the aircraft rise higher, while holding it up brings it down. Both the front and the back passengers control a lever.

Pepe Le Pew’s Rafts of Romance is a mini teacup spinning ride in Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). There are six cups that riders can sit in, each holding up to three people.

Unlike Monkey Business, Pepe Le Pew’s Rafts of Romance only involves two rotation forms. The first is the wide carousel rotation around the center structure. Throughout the entire ride, all cups will move in a wide circle.

Inside each cup is a wheel that allows riders to spin their cup. The faster they turn the wheel, the faster the cup moves. Likewise, if riders decide not to touch the wheel, it will not spin.

However, because this is a kid’s spinning ride, it’s impossible to spin the cups as fast as the ones on Monkey Business. It’s a more relaxed spinning ride to accustom kids to this form of experience.

Acme Fun Factory is a two-story kid’s play area with lots of fun activities and places to explore. Kids can climb jungle gyms, slide down both big and small slides, walk across netted bridges, and more. Though adults can’t use the Fun Factory, there are benches spread across the play area to relax while the kids play.

#7 – Elmer’s Weather Balloon service – Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)

Elmer’s Weather Balloon Service is an aerial carousel/spinning ride in Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). This ride combines elements from Yosemite Sam’s Flight School, Pepe Le Pew’s Rafts of Romance, and Wave Swinger. However, unlike Pepe Le Pew’s Rafts of Romance, the spinning on Elmer’s Weather Balloon Service can reach intense speeds.

Elmer’s Weather Balloon Service takes riders into the air and rotates them around the center structure. At the top of the structure is a gondola that each balloon is connected to. Like Wave Swinger, the gondola tilts left and right throughout the ride, increasing the heights of the balloons (or lowering them) in the process.

Like Pepe Le Pew’s Rafts of Romance, Monkey Business, and other teacup variations, there is a wheel in the center of their vehicle that riders can use to spin their balloon as fast as they want. The harder they turn the wheel, the faster the balloon spins.

Though the balloons can hold up to (at max) two adults, in reality, they may hold either two kids or a single adult with one kid, as they are small in size. Still, with two adults, theoretically, they could spin the wheel very fast, resulting in one of the most unexpectedly intense rides at the park.

Taz’s Typhoon is a slow aerial swing ride in Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom).

During the ride, riders will swing around in a circle, held up by the Tazmanian Devil’s arms as he spins in his signature fashion.

Unlike the Wave Swinger, Taz’s Typhoon does not lift riders high. In addition, benches are the seats rather than individual chairs. Each bench can hold up to two adults at once.

During Taz’s Typhoon, riders will go up and down as they swing according to how the gondola above them tilts.

#10 – Sylvester’s Pounce & Bounce – Looney Tunes Seaport (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)

Sylvester’s Pounce & Bounce is a kid’s drop ride with very mild drops.

During the ride, kids will slowly rise to the top (approximately 20 ft). They will then drop at most 5 ft, bounce up a bit, and drop another 5 ft until they reach the ground. Then they rise back up to the top and repeat the process. The drops are always small and more like bounces. The ride never rises to the top and drops to the bottom in one turn. It only consists of multiple slow, controlled drops to reach the bottom.

There is no height requirement to ride Sylvester’s Pounce & Bounce with an adult (or child at least 36″); however, guests must be at least 36″ to ride alone.
