Sidewinder Safari (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)

Sidewinder Safari (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)

The Sidewinder Safari (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) is a multi-layered coaster/spinning ride based on the classic wild mouse rollercoaster. Like most wild mouse coasters, the Sidewinder Safari consists of many sharp turns on a flat steel track, sudden short drops, and spinning elements. The queue for this ride features live snakes that guests can view while they wait in line. Sidewinder Safari is one of the newer coasters at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, opening on May 28, 2022.

Ride Experience for Sidewinder Safari (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)

Sidewinder Safari begins with a left turn and up the 43 ft chain lift hill. At the top, riders make a short left turn followed by a left u-turn. Riders make a right u-turn, then a left u-turn, then a final right u-turn that leads to a slight left turn into a short drop over the launch station. Immediately, the drop changes into an incline, taking riders back to the max height of 43 ft.

Riders make a left turn into a brake run, then a left turn into a long drop, reaching a max speed of 29 mph. Riders go over two bumps and then make a left turn into a brake run, followed by a left u-turn that moves the riders sideways. Riders move in a lateral direction towards the right and backward into a turn that makes riders spin. From this point forward, riders will spin until the ride ends.

While spinning, riders make a right u-turn, then a left u-turn which takes them down a straight path that leads into a final left u-turn into a short drop. Riders go over two last bumps and then a u-turn that takes them back to the launch station, ending the ride.
